XANADU ISLAND BODRUM

This is a great hotel. Gated island (not strictly speaking an island), the suite and grounds were immaculate, food was varied and of good quality, drinks were decent brands and available 24h (food till 22:00). Food ordered to the room is also free but for a 10 Euro service charge. There's even a free laundry service. The staff were very polite and attentive, though there was sometimes more of a language barrier than I'm used to. There's a QR code to scan on all the loungers and tables so you don't even have to go to the bar, and I doubt we ever even waited a full five minutes for drinks to arrive (it was last week of the season though, very quiet). I'd have no difficulty recommending the place. It isn't the cheapest hotel, but by no means the most expensive, and I honestly think it was good value for money. Not everything was perfect, the pools were on the chilly side, even the indoor one. To be fair the place isn't really aimed at kids, but we travelled as a family and the only pool suitable for young children is tiny. The beach is also quite small for the size of the place, can imagine it getting quite competitive in high season (there are plenty of other areas to sun yourself though). I did have a bit of a fallout with room service. They have two teams - cleaners and mini bar. The cleaners were great, but the mini bar team was mostly absent. This might have been trivial were it not for the fact you rely on these people for drinking water - you can drink the tap water in Bodrum, but nobody does. This only improved after the 4th day, when I threatened a more formal complaint. That team are also responsible for replenishing the cups and glasses that the cleaners take away, and it got to the point we were left with just one teacup for a party of four. There was less than I thought there'd be when it comes to site seeing round there btw, it's really somewhere you go to mostly stay at the hotel. Overall though it really is a very nice place. I'd probably go elsewhere next time as a family, but as a couple would happily return.

Mum, dad, granny, 2 x children Annual late October trip. 4th all inclusive. XANADU Island was an excellent choice. Elegance 2 bedroom suite. Perfect holiday from start to finish. Food great. Service first rate. Facilities terrific. A highly recommended hotel and experience.

This hotel is so close to perfection….the only thing that let ‘s Xanadu Island down is the outdoor pool temperatures , when we stayed in October both outdoor pools water temperature was very cold…. On the positive side The hotel facilities are very high quality , well maintained , clean and set within a safe location. Buffet Restaurant- Food quality very good with a great choice. Bars - all very good , offering branded drinks. Ordering drinks via the table QR code was simple and worked very well. Room - Our room was very comfortable , cleaned daily to a high standard. Every member of the hotel team were friendly and extremely helpful and are a credit to the hotel. In summary , this hotel offers guests a 5 star experience other than the outdoor pool temperature and is the only reason we would not return early or late season.

An amazing family holiday! As with the previous reviews, there is very little I can say that is negative about this hotel. In fact, there is only one big thing so let's get that over with.... the pools are cold. Like REALLY COLD. But we visited in October and most resorts do not heat their outdoor pools. There is an indoor pool as well which is heated a little bit so it isn't bracing but I wouldn't say it is warm. Now for the positives which are plentiful: The staff are amazing. The hotel is well staffed. Cleaning takes place throughout the day and so, even if you miss their morning round, they will come back. You also have constant WhatsApp access so you can report anything you need like more towels, toilet roll or a minibar restock. The staff all seem to really care too. You get messages every morning informing you about the various activities going on that day such as yoga and the kid's club activities. The island is completely secure so only paying hotel guests have access. This means you don't have to wear an all-inclusive wristband. You can wander around the island grabbing yourself an ice cream from a freezer or a cold drink from a fridge. There is a beach hut which serves cocktails, mocktails, beer, tea etc. And there are other areas you can access the sea for a swim off jetties/boardwalks. The grounds are gorgeous and receive constant attention and the views are stunning. There is a photography studio on site where you can request a photoshoot and you pay per photo (not for the shoot). The cost is 15€ per photo (or they may do an offer of 10 for 100€. Lovely to get some family photos with a gorgeous backdrop. The food is good. You can eat at the main restaurant for every meal but there are also snack bars which serve pizzas and burgers outside of the main restaurant mealtimes. There are two a la carte restaurants but we didn't feel the need to use them as the main restaurant food offers a lot of choice. There are towels EVERYWHERE so you can always grab one wherever you choose to swim. If you stay more than 7 nights you get free laundry which is a real plus. If you're leaving on a Sunday just be aware they don't do laundry on a Sunday so plan accordingly. The main bed is comfy but the sofa bed not so much and definitely isn't big enough for two adults so if your plan is to have the kids tucked away asleep in the main bedroom and to stay up and then have the adults sleep in the living room, you may need a rethink. The kid's club is AMAZING. Our young children (aged 5 and 7) absolutely loved it and wanted to go every day. There are activities every day except Sunday but the club is still open on a Sunday for them to use the indoor small softplay area and outdoor play area. The kids club made such a huge difference to our children AND to us as we were able to have some child free time at the beach and bar. There is a small games room and a bowling alley too. The onsite supermarket type shop is expensive so bring all you need such as swim floats unless if you want to pay through the nose. There are no prices on items, the shop owner simply weighs up how much he thinks you can afford and charges you appropriately 🤣🤣 Watersports seem pricey too. 80€ for 10 minutes on a jetski but, as with the shop, these businesses probably operate separate to the hotel We have had the best week here at Xanadu Island and our children have both asked if we can come back again next year. If there was any chance that just one of the outdoor pools could be heated, I wouldn't consider going anywhere else for family holidays as this place would be perfection!

Leave today after a week long stay. We were upgraded to the sunset suite which was a lovely spacious room with brilliant views would definitely book this room if you are thinking of staying here. Plenty of sunbeds and towels available and the QR code to order drinks means you do not have to move from your sunbed pure bliss. Staff are all extremely friendly which is the hotels biggest asset.We had a Turkish bath and massage on day one of our arrival and cannot recommend the spa enough so make sure you visit during your stay. We were lucky and booked the Italian and Mexican restaurants food was amazing and enjoyed the little touches of the snacks on the table just lacked the finesse to be a fine dining experience. Maybe suggest that they should be adult only which may help the ambience.The food in the main restaurant let the hotel down from being awarded 5 star rating all meals were tepid at best the selection was the same every day maybe you could try themed nights so it’s more varied. The sweets were the best part of the dinning experience would recommend the rice pudding..All in all a wonderful stay and would return
