Brilliant holiday at the Very Chic Hotel : Gumbet
Location; in the centre of Humber; close to Bar street but not too close. Adult only so peaceful. The staff are animal centric: if you are cat phobic this probably is not the hotel for you. Staff; attentive, polite and diligent Hotel; a series of two block apartments varying from a single room with shower and toilet; to two/ three room apartments with self catering facilities Food; there is no buffet style available here; you order your meals via a QR code on your table. The range of food is fairly extensive and the food was of the highest quality. If you didn’t like what you ordered; you simply order something different. Alcohol: we were all inclusive and as such had the film range of branded alcohol available to you. I enjoy a vodka and they were free pouring Absolute Vodka . There are also various cocktails available, beer, whiskeys and gin etc. There is a Starbucks coffee shop on site and you have a choice of coffee’s from 9 to 5 pm. We would have a capo-chino and order a couple of whiskeys to make an Irish Coffee. Room service; towels were changed daily and the room was serviced. Manager; we were due to check out at 1130am on the Friday morning; we were the last guests in the hotel. The manger insisted that we keep our room on all day and that e have lunch and dinner there. The staff were having their end of season meal and thought we had to be picked up at 7 pm; they fed the same meal they were having at 6 PM. I could not recommend this hotel enough.

Could be a great hotel just needs work on certain areas
We spent a long weekend here from the 16th October until 19th October 24. I chose this hotel due to it being adults only and its central location to bar street. The hotel is about an hours transfer away which was perfect for us. We arrived before check in time at 2pm so we were given a wrist band and left to have a look around and drink while we waited for our room. We were given a room at 2.30pm. We were shown to our room but wasn't given any information on meal times or wifi code etc so this area of customer service could be worked on as reception staff are a little rude the lady who must be one of the managers is lovely though really polite. Room was a little disappointed as it was very dusty and dirty so i went out and brought anti bac wipes and cleaned it myself however the room was very funky with an industrial vibe not keen on the loo being in with the shower though. Our loo seat was broken on arrival we reported it to reception and was sorted right away. Another let down of the room was that we had no hot water throughout our stay. Air con worked well and there is water and canned drinks in the room. We could hear the music from the pool at bedtime usually went off at 12 but could also hear the music from bars but we didn't mind as we still got to sleep. The meals work on a different system compared to most all inclusives in my opionion it doesnt really work as your meals come out a different times for example a waiter could come out with your partners meal and another tables meal and your left waiting for yours. The system needs a little more attention for it to work better but overall food is very tasty and of good size it is repetative as they never change the menu its the same for both lunch and evening meal. Breakfast you have to ask the servers for what you want its not help youself you only really do your toast yourself. All meals are by the pool so take a jacket as it gets cold. Entertainment by the pool for evening meal is a nice touch. There are alot of cats and i mean alot we like cats so not a problem for us and they do sit next to you at meal times, do not feed the kittens as the foods to rich for their tiny bellys, as alot were feeding them and they were suffering with toilet issues and it was heartbreaking. The pool area is really nice and the guys who worked on the bar were highly entertaining and funny. The beach area is like fine gravel which i prefered as it didn't stick to you the sea view is beautiful you can walk you can walk either side and its a nice walk there are plenty of sun loungers on beach only dow fall people leave alot of rubbish and cigarette ends. The grounds in which the rooms are situated are lovely reminds you of being in the jungle with all the greenery and the oak balconys. We used the starbucks alot they do nice coffees. There is an outdoor gym. If you like a lively atmosphere its the perfect hotel as its near all the shops and bars. This hotel could be great but it does need some work on certain areas like customer service, cleaning could be improved the reception and pool toilets are extremley dirty i am quite OCD so it did get to me abit could improve maintainence too. But we did enjoy our stay apart from the odd bits. We also paid for late check out which was great as we didnt loose out on time.

    Great for couples
We had such a beautiful time. Everybody was very friendly and the all inclusive was great. We had a big variety of food. It started with breakfast then lunch snacks dinner and for the hungry ones even midnight snacks. The Starbucks was also one of our highlights. I can recommend it for sure especially for couples. I will miss seeing the beach from the breakfast table. Definitely going back.

Fantastic all inclusive adults only hotel
We had a fantastic week at Very Chic and can definitely recommend this hotel. No offence to parents, we are parents too, but the Adults only setting was very enjoyable. It is different from our experiences of all inclusives in Spain and Portugal. Breakfast is billed as buffet but you go around the kitchen and ask for the items you want. Other meals are ordered via a web site with your order delivered to your table. A good array of tasty food is offered. Some of the ‘appetisers’ are main meals in portion size. What we think is a local dessert, Magnolia, is wickedly good. The waiters are very keen to make their guests happy and several enjoy having some jokey fun with the customers. The bar is well stocked and the bar tenders are also full of fun and very keen to make all guests enjoy their time. Entertainment staff add that bit extra to the holiday with games and activities during the day and music until around 11.30pm. Some very talented acts add to this in the evening shows. Beware, some of the rooms 600+ to 800+ as these are directly facing the main road and a very noise niteclub which is on until 4am. We had one of these rooms and simply couldn’t sleep on our first night. We were moved to another 600+ room but this one wasn’t directly facing the main road so the noise was bearable. Ideally you will ask for a room in the range 100+ to 500+. Unless of course you are a niteclubber in which case any room will do. There is daily housekeeping and the rooms are clean. There was a bit of scum in the sink which contributed to an occasional unpleasant odour. This wouldn’t be picked up by day to day housekeeping but could do with attention. The practice of putting toilet paper in bins in Turkey isn’t the best part of the holiday but is a local necessity you have to accept. The hotel itself extends right to the beach with sun loungers provided, We hadn’t been aware of this on arrival. A very welcome aspect is the abundance of sun loungers and other furniture on which to enjoy the weather. So no need for a 7 or 8am rise to get a sun lounger. Clientele during our stay was very varied with Brits being a minority. To fully enjoy the music it would be worthwhile brushing up on knowledge of Turkish, Russian and Polish pop. Some aspects of the Gumbet beach aren’t ideal with many areas requiring some cleaning and upkeep. But the views are fantastic. There are a lot of shops` restaurants and bars in the area for anyone looking to spend some time off campus. Whilst at Very Chic we enjoyed a day trip to Kos which departed from Bodrum organised by Jet2. All in all we can highly recommend this excellent hotel to anyone planning a Turkish holiday.

    VERY CHIC, VERY AMAZING 🇹🇷🫶🏼
Recently returned from a week’s stay at Very Chic and had the most AMAZING time! The all inclusive food concept ordering via a QR code is brilliant. However, the biggest highlight for us was the amazing bar, restaurant, and entertainment staff. They work so hard and are extremely attentive - we were treated like royalty throughout our entire stay. Special thanks to Ibrahim for making our holiday so great with his amazing service and delicious cocktails. Free Starbucks at the hotel is also a great perk and the staff here are brilliant. I would not hesitate to recommend Very Chic and already cannot wait to return!!!
