SUNNY DAYS EL PALACIO RESORT & SPA

Myself and my wife are just back from 14 days at this resort. Seen the reviews and thought it must be good, 1st impressions the hotel lobby is wow, very grand looking. (🤔 result) Then you go to your room which is quite dated but clean and does the job. Building standard obv isn't a thing in egypt, bathrooms abit rough looking and tired, shower head dripples like a tap, can't have a bath or use sink as there's no plugs, ( handy tip - sunny days soap is perfect size to block plug drain 😀 Breakfast time - not worth getting up for, unless you like beef stew and pureed potatoes with the worst watered down coffee you've ever had. Then spend 5 days afterwards on the toilet All food at this hotel is the worst we've ever experienced. And you'd have more chance of winning the lottery than getting a table at this restaurant, We ate standing up with another family outside on our 1st night, we then ate out out after that as its so cheap in town. Relaxing by the pools or at the beach isn't relaxing atall, your hounded every 2 mins by some hotel staff trying to sell you massages, day trips, haircuts etc and are very very pushy, no isn't an answer for these ppl. I timed it and the 1st 15 mins on a sun bed 5 ppl approached us. Piss take At the end we spend almost every day of the 14 on daytrips, which we booked online as was half the price as hotel, then out for tea in town at night. We used this hotel as a bed for the night only with the occasional drink. In the smallest plastic glass you could think of. This is the worst hotel I've ever been to. 4 star it is not. more like a 2 The location is good, which is the only good thing The feeling i got from this hotel is what I'd imagine its like to be in prison over crowded every one scrambling over rubbish food and tables, badgered by staff, and the safest place for some peace and tranquility was your room.

What a disappointment this hotel was. It has a beautiful outlook but that is not enough to rescue it from the way it is being run. Most of the facilities for this hotel are too small for its size. So the queues were just never ending. One lunch time I queued for 15 minutes to get lunch. That was bad enough but then when I got my food it was not worth the wait. The management obviously realised how bad the queues were and did start to change the layout in the restaurant and outside cooking stations but truly it is not big enough. With their dine around option from the 3 hotels the main resort was really busy everywhere. It was very hard to get a table at the main restaurant - try the Turquoise one but make sure you get there at least half an hour before it is due to close. We tried ChopStix a la carte and it was truly awful. Do yourself a favour and don't bother. Ubers were so cheap (£1 each way) that we went to the marina to eat instead. The sunbeds were the most ridiculous thing. Again there are not enough for the size of the hotel. People were reserving them at night! I got up at 7.00am in the morning and only just managed to get a sunbed - there were only 4 free at that time. The hotel did start to remove the items reserving sunbeds at night. But then they didn't tell anyone where the items were and that caused chaos and arguing among the guests. The alcohol used in the drinks is very poor quality. We went to a drinks shop up the road and bought our own and only used their mixers. Mostly the glasses used were very small and poor quality plastic. Our safe did not work when we arrived and it took 2 days to get them to sort it out. When we went to leave the safe stopped working again with our passports locked in it. After being promised someone would be there at a certain time I waited for 45 minutes before I went to get them myself. The phone in the room did not work either. The room was very tired with plugs falling off the wall. They are renovating some rooms and you can pay extra on arrival for an "Elite" room. The vast majority of guests at this hotel were Russians and there were very few English guests. This was a truly poor experience and I would never return to this hotel.

I spent a week at this hotel and it was a week of super fun. Friendly staff, clean beaches, large territory, delicious food and everything you need for a holiday. The animators here are the best. Lots of interesting activities: volleyball, dancing, yoga. In the evening we went with the animators to the club and it was a lot of fun. Thank you very much for the pleasant time spent here.

The hotel is good, the people that work Here are really friendly and they help you as much they can. The food in the main restaurant is pretty good. The animation program is good aswell, if you like to do Some activities. Beach is nice aswell easy to go in the water

Great hotel! We had problems at check in due to our online booking. David was great helping us to come to a solution. The cleaning staff was friendly, as was the restaurant and bar staff. The animation team is great and there is good entertainment each night. I love the exercise sessions! The food gets a little repetitive, and the taste is a little bland, but the hotel offers guests an opportunity to eat at one of 4 international restaurants. It’s great that there are 2 “sister” hotels nearby. Thank you! We will be sure to return!
