ROYAL ALBATROS MODERNA

We booked the Royal Moderna from a recommendation and not disappointed. We arrived about 7pm and received a very warm welcome. We did find the first evening overwhelming at the size of the complex, but the following day found our bearings. Lots for all to enjoy. Several pools to choose from depending on the vibe you want. We particularly enjoyed the beach, comfy sunbeds, beanbags and shade. Waiters are attentive to wherever you choose to sunbathe, didn't get up for a drink once continuous supply brought to you throughout the day. Food was excellent, again plenty of choice from the several restaurants that are linked close together and you can choose what ever you want. We particularly enjoyed the Tagine restaurant, we had a table outside morning and evening, the view overlooking one if the pools and was well looked after by Mohameed Adel. His service was amazing. Whilst we've been away we have celebrated our 25th Anniversary, our room did not disappoint and everyday some form of towel art and our anniversary night room was decorated lovely and also on our last night all by the lovely Ali Yahia who kept our room lovely throught our stay. There is entertainment at the hotel but not our cup of tea, this takes place at the amphitheatre by the beach. There are plenty of bars to choose from to enjoy your evening. The sports bar did the best Pina Colardas. We have taken the opportunity to do a few trips, a boat trip with snorkeling was unbelievable well worth the money, dune buggies were fun and a city evening trip. All the trips were with an English speaking guide and you went in group's 8. The mini buses are small but extremely clean tidy and new all with air-conditioning. If your looking for a flop and drop holiday and to be looked after then you wouldn't be disappointed with Royal Moderna

We had a very nice holiday week with our family. Hotel and rooms are clean, big food variety, friendly hotel staff, nice swimming pools for kids and also for adults, hotel territory is safe, and finally really AMAZING ANIMATION TEAM with a lot of diferent activities during the whole day 💚 Definetly we will come back again ☺️🫶🏽

This was our 4th stay at this hotel which speaks for itself. I emailed with some special requests a couple of weeks before travel and was greeted by 2 very friendly welcoming members of the reception staff who immediately brought up my email. We felt welcomed from the first minute we arrived! We were told they could accommodate our requests for the rooms near our previous stay location or we could choose the Royal Suite and we couldn't decide so the staff member took us to see the Royal Suite. Of course we chose this option! Huge room with two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living area and 3 balconies, it was perfect for our family of 5. The room was decorated well, had everything we needed and was kept so clean by our room cleaner. He was always so happy to see us and nothing was too much trouble - the towel art and flowers were beautiful! The hotel is kept so clean, staff are constantly cleaning everywhere and the gardens are pristine. We cannot fault the food at this hotel at all, the choice is immense! We could have chosen about 20 different meals at each meal time and all were cooked well. The chefs seem genuinely proud of their food and encourage you to try new things. Big tip- eat in the Tagine restaurant! It's quieter in there, the service is brilliant and the food is so good! Special shout out to Esmat who always made sure we had a table and before we sat down he was there with our drink order without even having ti ask him. The cheese pie and sweet pie is to die for ! Also the national dessert Om Ali is delicious! We found sitting in here the kids could nip to the Italian to get fresh made pasta or pizza also and we could all eat together. There is so much choice for even the pickiest of eaters, Club MC at the beach is open at lunch if you want a simple burger, fries, pizza etc for a quick lunch also. The columbus coffee bar does lovely jot drinks and also has cakes and ice cream between 3-5pm, we enjoyed sitting here to unwind with a sweet treat before getting ready for our evening. I don't drink alcohol generally however my husband said the beer was fine and my daughter had a few cocktails which she liked, these drinks are best in the sports bar where the bar man makes a good mojito. The air con in the sports bar is lovely! The kids enjoyed playing mini golf, boules and ping pong in the evenings and we enjoyed sitting at the bear bar with a shisha a few times also (£8 extra for the shisha). Big shout out to Osama at the beach bar, we have known him since our first stay back in 2014. Osama is a gem, lovely guy, nothing is too much trouble and he takes the time to say hello. We spent most of our time at the beach as we love to snorkel and we enjoyed morning walks along the jetty. We seen sting rays, lion fish, puffer fish among many,many others! The water is crystal clear and as blue as any waters we have seen in the Caribbean. Our friend Muhammed Ahmed (in the pictures I have posted) is the star of the beach! Whilst we met him last year at the aqua Park he was on the beach this time. This guy works so hard and is full of energy and always stops to have a friendly chat which we really loved. Muhammed made us feel so welcome and we feel like we have made a genuine friend. He helped us in anyway he could and is an asset to the hotel !! The hotel wouldn't be the same with out him there. Tip- go and watch the sunrise it is BEAUTIFUL! The hotel is always improving and has added the beach swings and beach beanbags this time, both great additions, they really think of everything. The security on the beach were also incredibly helpful and friendly , I didn't get his name but one of them called me miss hannah! He was great. Mohammed Baisony is another person we cannot fail to mention, he helped us with everything from sunbeds to security. Another gem staff member is Shenouda, he took the time to come and find us to make sure all was well, even when we were on the beach or jetty. We felt like we could call on him anytime and enjoyed our chats woth him. Another huge asset to the hotel! We done the cairo by air trip with Falcon, couldn't recommend it more, it was the best trip we have ever done anywhere such a great experience. Overall you will struggle to find a hotel that beats the Royal Albatros, this was our 4th stay but it will not be our last! See you all next time !

Lovely hotel. Staff are friendly. The pools were great. We spent our whole holiday beside the kids pools and we could not get the kids out. The adult aqua park is at the front of the hotel and that was fun and not as busy as expected probably because it was away from the main hub. Now this is Egypt so although the hotel says its 5 star...it is to Egyptian standard. Its more like a 4 star.. Food was repetitive although plentiful. Room cleaning was poor and I think our cleaner didn't do a good job but I just couldn't be bothered to complain. The kids club has a lot to be desired. Not 5 star at all! More like 2 star! We didn't go to the gym on site so can't comment. The taxi service in the hotel is expensive, better to walk to the main entrance and haggle with them to get a better price. Overall, we enjoyed and I would give the hotel and holiday a strong 7. Would visit the hotel again.

One of the best places to have a Family vacation in, aqua park was great, snorkeling was the best, Diving was magnificent, food was good, rooms were nice. the only negative point is the Kids club which was almost directed to the Russian language speakers.
