Honest review

HOTEL This hotel in my opinion is not a 4 start, I would give it a comfortable 3 stars, held off for the standard of food and cleanliness of the pools. Water is not suitable for drinking or cleaning teeth as the water is pulled from the red sea and contains chemicals to make it clear and remove smells, even when boiled the water is not fit to drink. The guides also advise to not allow pool water to enter your mouth. ROOMS The rooms are basic but clean, the linen is not chained daily. There are staff come into the rooms daily to clean and make beds, the staff are friendly and are always asking if your room is ok for you. If you require anything they will get it for you. Irons and ironing boards are available on request. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the room but no milk is left. I had a small Fanta bottle that I filled up at the pool bar and kept it in the fridge. POOLS There are 6 large pools to choose from and at the time we went there was plenty room for everybody to find a sun bed and be beside one of them. There are a few with slides and one with a lazy river. The pools are not the cleanest I have used and there is a dark ring around the edge of some of them but this sure didn’t stop us from getting in the pool daily. The water is chilly but still refreshing in the hot sun. STAFF Mahmood. the restaurant manager, he was there as soon as we entered the dining room and was very welcoming, he would always make sure we found a table and bring drinks over to us. Islam. The bar manager, again he was so keen on keeping the guests happy, again came over for chats and to see how your stay was going, he always asked if we needed anything and ensured we were having the best time we could during our stay. Rammy. Bar tender, great guy. Always remembers your drink, fills your glass as soon as he sees its empty. He has a laugh with the guests baffles his customers with riddles and puzzles at the pool bar. Anything you ask Rammy for it will be there withing minutes if he doesn’t have it there and then. FOOD The food is not the best I have had and to be fair if you go the eat anything later than opening time its usually a little cold. I couldn’t find a microwave to heat up my food if needed. There is not much variety and can be quite repetitive. I found it best to stick to the BBQ outside area where food it cooked fresh so it will always be hot. WIFI The free wifi is only available in the hotel reception, there is no free coverage in the rooms or by the pool areas. There is a paid wifi available but nowadays with wifi as strong and prominent in everyday life I believe it would be a great idea to offer free wifi coverage that covers the entire site for guests to enjoy. This would allow guests to go online and share things going on at the hotel, this would be free advertising for the hotel

Don’t go if you want to enjoy your holiday

Avoid if you can! Unless you are a person who speak Russian and doesn’t really like to smile. I’ve stayed in the hotel for 14 nights and I can say it was the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Thankfully it wasn’t my first stay in Egypt because otherwise would be the last one. Let’s start from the very beginning when my friends get bitten by mosquitos so badly that had to go to clinic for injection that they have been charged £130. In the begging of stay we had a device on the tree next to our rooms that stopped the bags but then they’ve removed it as well most likely to get more money from the clinic that they’ve got in the hotel. Room cleaning service doesn’t do nothing more than changing towels and putting down duvet that stay in the same cover for your full holidays. They don’t even wash the floor and your feet’s are black if you are walking barefoot in your room. Hotel restaurant is horrible. Every single person I’ve meet in the hotel was struggling with stomach pain after eating food from the hotel or even vomiting or got toilet visit every two minutes. Food is same every single day- maybe one or two types of food are changed. Bartenders mostly don’t speak English. I was struggling to order even water as they don’t understand sentence “two water please”. Massive thank you to 4 of them that actually save this holiday somehow and they had tried every day to give some positive experience on this holiday - Mohammed and Mohammed from night shift in star fish and morning in the lobby -Mohammed who is always in red t-shirt and I believe is there to help bartenders as I could see him a little bit everywhere -Ramy who is serving in star fish or by pool bar and doing even magic tricks for you to smile. Day shift from the lobby and fish bar are rude, screaming at you when they don’t understand you and always going around with balloon face. It came to a moment when I didn’t want to go to take a cocktail as I knew there will be a problem. Everyone is speaking Russian to you and when you are politely asking if they speak English they wave at you and leaving. Hotel pool is so cold you are not even able to stay in the water as you have goosebumps all over the body. All the pools are mostly empty or with 4 people in it. Water in the bathroom is cold and it’s hard to take a shower sometimes. Animation is a general joke. They have some aquagym, darts and stretching in the morning every day for 2 hours and 2 hours “show” in the evening which is done in the beginning in English and Russian but normally in the middle the manager is getting bored of speaking two languages and continue the show only in Russian. Nobody knows what’s happening in the hotel as the info board is empty and you need to be lucky to get some informations but half of them speak only Russian.

Avoid

Horrendous hotel Dark and dingy interior everywhere, all brown and run down. Not inviting at all. Escorted to our room, bare in mind we’d paid for a “superior double deluxe” …greeted with 3 single beds, a broken safe and a sliding door with no hinge meaning anybody could open it and walk in at anytime. Back to reception, changed to another room, so filthy, safe still didn’t work, wires hanging out of it - though the door was operational and we had a double bed - guess we had to settle for this! The food - terrible. Unless you like fish for breakfast, lunch and dinner… that’s been sat there for hours on end sweating and surrounded by flies!! Safe to say stomach bugs were caught and evening meals were eaten out! Oh and every plate was chipped or filthy. Drinks - glasses are pathetic, OK if you’re 7 months old though! Cleanliness - non existent, to the point we were sat eating an ice cream at the food court and the bartender came and “wiped” the table with a cloth you could smell from a mile off, mouldy and stinking and just stomach turning. Overall - would never ever return to this hotel and I’d avoid it unless you are Russian (the rudest people on the planet - they love to smash into you and jump every queue known to man)

Amazing staff

Loved this resort mainly because of the staff bad points beer is served in plastic cup which is about a mouthful and half they really need address those as its why the english wouldn't come back. On the plus side the staff are fantastic they are genuinely interested in making your holiday the best it could be, yousry abdel Hamid made us feel like royalty nothing was too much along with his friend we never had to get out of our chairs for drinks, we walked in and a table ( for 8 ) was made available. Rehana please look after your staff their the best. On the down side we has a week of cold showers and brown water 3 doors away my sisters was red hot we pointed this out around 3 times but no joy. The hotel is a little run down through age but the staff go above and beyond our first trip to Egypt and we will be back x

Not happy

We got two rooms with dirty floors, urine smell in the bathroom, dirty windows and glass table, stained sofa and mouldy ceiling. The ultra all inclusive comes in kids size glasses, food served on chirpped plates. The guys in the restaurant do their best but it is a common thing in the morning they run out of clean coffee cups and you get a paper one. This place has a potential. Unfortunately it is hidden behind smelly lobby toilets with broken locks, broken sunbeds with pieces of sharp plastic sticking out, not enough tables in the lobby terrace. Everything you touch is sticky. I never ever brought home a stomach bug from Egypt until now.
