NIDO, MAR-BELLA COLLECTION

This was a wonderful holiday at a beautiful hotel. We were greeted on arrival and left to decompress with two lovely drinks and a glass of water as we completed check-in. There is no reason not to come here if you are concerned about navigating the terrain - the Mar Bella properties are built into the side of a mountain - there are ample golf buggies to ferry you around. The rooms are lovely - we had a grand terrace suite with a hot tub on the terrace, just for us. The main restaurant was more than adequate for our breakfast and dinner. There are cooked-to-order omelettes and even eggs benedict to choose from and also freshly squeezed orange juice and wonderful coffee at breakfast. For dinner, the restaurant was marvellous, with fabulous food from delicious soups to wonderful puddings. Whilst we were there, the selection was changed daily and the chef never repeated himself. The staff regularly replenished the well-stocked buffet areas and there was also a carvery area with a different joint or side of salmon, daily. The two waitresses who served my husband and me were very polite, spoke good English and were engaging and approachable. The ice creams were divine - Ikos take note - no straightforward vanilla chocolate and strawberry here. Frozen yoghurt and berries, raspberry sorbet, salted caramel, kumquat and chocolate chip... so lovely. This was an adults-only part of the Mar Bella group hotels and should you be looking for a quiet place with breathtaking views - here it is. Excepting our first day, the weather was balmy and bright. The sunsets from our terrace were gorgeous. We had the best time here and would return in a heartbeat,

I will start by the small flaws. The vanity/small mirror in the bedroom has not been cleaned for a rather long time, it was dusty and has a few grease marks on it which was rather unpleasant. Also, some staffs were more pleasant than others, I guessed it could be because being almost end of the season and everyone is tired. Aside from that, it is a really nice hotel. The location is perfect, sea view in the grand terrace with hot tub room is just to die for. They were very fast in responding as there were couple of nights when insects were (only 1 each night) in my room - not hygiene related, just because the hotel is on a small hill and I am particularly squeamish about insects. Called reception and within minutes staff arrived and resolved the issue. The location is rather remote but it has been compensated by some activities offered for free/included in your room rate. Some fitness classes can be booked through the app, the classes located in the Mar-Bella hotel which is very close by within walking distance. Also, sunset cruise and southern Corfu cruise are both very worth doing. Other activities like snorkelling and paddle boarding which unfortunately I did not have enough time to participate. They are generous with the drinking water supplies, given 1L for the day then 2x500ml bottles in the evening. The buffet breakfast and dinner are adequate. Tried the Appagio Restaurant, was slightly concerned, the restaurant is outdoor and weather is turning slightly cold after sunset and not too fond of food turning cold before arriving. But it did not disappoint, food was nice and hot and tasty. It is a pebble beach but can see lots of fishes through the crystal clear water, do not be put off by it. The infinity pool has a beautiful view and decent size. Unsure if there was meant to be a turn down service as a ‘proper’ turn down service only happened on the first night, other nights couple of bottles of water and chocolates were given. Feels really safe in the area and thoroughly enjoyed my stay, will definitely return if I am in Corfu again.

10 days at Nido and we were already relaxed by day one! This is a beautiful hotel with lovely facilities. The rooms are well appointed and the restaurants are smart and comfortable. What makes this hotel stand out from the rest is the service provided by the caring and thoughtful staff. They take time to know your needs and remember them without hesitation. It makes you feel that your stay is as important to them as it is to you. Everyone we encountered was delightful but a couple of special mentions to Krista and Andreas in the restaurant. You guys helped to make our holiday special. Thank you. Hope to visit again soon.

Nido Mar-bella is a wonderful place to stay - accomodation is spotlessly clean and well maintained; staff are very attentive and the food is amazing. Would definately recommend. A few points to note however in deciding whether this is the place for you..... 1) its built on a steep hillside. They offer a buggy service to get you near your room, but most rooms were then up a flight of 5-6 steps. Not ideal for anyone who struggles with walking / mobility. 2) the local area is nothing special. there are 2-3 tavernas in walking distance all of which do good food, but it is very limited. Lovely small village and marina at Benitses woth a visit, but about an hours walk each way with limited / no footpath. I wouldn't recommend bed and breakfast unless you hire a car or rely on taxis. 3) You have to cross a busy road to get to the beach which itelf is a relatively narrow stretch of shingly sand although when we were there, there was a lot of washed up seaweed (this may have just been the time of year)

From the moment of arrival at this luxury hotel we were made to feel special and valued as guests. Food is outstanding with a large variety at the buffet for breakfast and dinner, but an a la carte restaurant is also available. Rooms are spacious and all have sea views. Some have private splash pools, but the infinity pool area is the place we spent the most time. There are golf carts available 24/7 if you do not feel like navigating the fairly steep walk to your apartment. There is a pool bar and light lunches can be ordered here. The small private beach allows you to enjoy the balmy Ionian Sea. Water sport facilities are available. There is the option of a water taxi to Corfu Town, as well as other excursions that can be booked from the very helpful front desk. Several evening entertainment options were available during our week stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. As an over-16 resort we enjoyed the relaxed pace and the attentive service. Highly recommended.
