Mitsis Selection Laguna - Crete We had a wonderful one-week holiday in May as a family of two adults and three children. The check-in process was smooth, and the kids were warmly welcomed with special gifts, making them feel extra special. Restaurants. There is a fantastic variety of restaurants and bars. For dinner, there’s the main buffet and four à la carte options. We were fortunate to try each à la carte restaurant, all of which were delightful, with our favorites being the fish and pan-Asian restaurants. Although we didn’t book all the restaurants in advance, the management was incredibly accommodating and arranged a reservation for us when there were cancellations. Our daughter has food allergies, and the hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure her meals were safe. She felt truly pampered, especially with a large plate of pancakes made just for her at breakfast. At dinner, the hotel’s nutritionist personally met with us to review the menu and ensure the meals were allergy-friendly. This thoughtful, professional service made us feel completely at ease. Bar. Beach and poolside waiter service was fantastic, offering a wide selection of beverages including beer, wine, cocktails, soft drinks, and bottled water. While the main bar in the evening could get busy, the service was excellent, with plenty of drink options and even some fun cocktails for the kids. The mini-bar in our room was stocked daily with branded soft drinks, wine (red, white, and rosé), and beer. We also enjoyed the live entertainment, especially the Greek singing and Latin dancing, which was fun for everyone without being overwhelming. Room. As a family of five, our room options were a bit limited (I believe there’s only one room type, without a sea view). However, we found the room spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a separate sleeping area for the children and ample storage. The view of the shared pool was lovely. Next time, we’d opt for a top-floor room to avoid the noise from the floor above. Location. The hotel is right on the beach, and while we didn’t venture beyond the complex (aside from the private beach), it provided everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Beach. The private beach was simply beautiful—sandy, peaceful, and well-maintained, with plenty of free sunbeds available. The kids enjoyed exploring the rockpools further along. Pool. There are numerous pools to enjoy, including the main heated pool (which got busy, but we could always find a lounger), relaxing saltwater pools, and a heated kids’ pool with a water slide. We especially loved the heated pools for their relaxing atmosphere. We didn’t try the indoor pool, as it required an additional fee. Kids Club. We were incredibly impressed with the kids' club! The staff were warm, welcoming, and truly an asset to the hotel. Our children loved spending time there, and the variety of activities kept them entertained throughout our stay. Staff. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, contributing to the overall positive experience. Overall we had an amazing time! We enjoyed relaxing by the beach while our children had a blast at the kids' club. The food and drinks were excellent, and the staff made everything even more enjoyable. The staff were racist and miserable this completely impacted our stay, it was not a 5 Star Hotel. The staff were so weird about our mixed race children and kept coming and touching their hair making us all feel extremely uncomfortable. By the end they had stopped cleaning the room and had taken all the bedding from our room for the children. On the first day they said they had run out of Greek Yogurt, by the last day the sun loungers were put away, there was no vanilla ice cream, no gin, it was awful there was no apologises the staff were just rude. It was the end of the season and we had paid just as much for the stay as the week before if not more as it was half term. The bar staff would serve men but not women it was laughable, the bar people would tell me to sit down if I asked for a drink but would serve the men. I was told in the spa reception I was too spotty for a facial, I had booked one and then on the day in the reception area the spa owner tried to tell me I was too spotty for a facial, she offered me a more expensive massage and then offered me a teenage acne facial, the lady that ran the spa made me basically cry, the spa its self was really run down with tiles falling off the wall and with a cheap range of products. This was just a running theme with all the staff just rude made us feel so unwelcome with the children. We booked with BA we will not be booking with them again in a hurry either. By the end I just anted to leave the taxi to the airport could not come quick enough.

Mitsis Laguna is a fantastic hotel that has become a second home for my wife and I. We enjoyed our 7th visit there in October 2024 and as usual, were not disappointed. ALL staff from the wonderful reception team, guest services, restaurant staff, room service, bartenders, drivers, entertainment etc etc are FANTASTIC, always smiling and helpful. Food was fantastic, whether at kids pool, beach, main or themed restaurant and no fighting for a sunbed! Facilities are great all round. The best thing for me is the genuine friendliness of the staff who have become friends- I would like to name them all but I would not want to leave any out! The general manager MICHALIS is approachable, knowledgeable and helpful, but it is the wonderful OLGA who always seems to solve any queries we may have. Thanks to Olaksander, Giorgis, Chrissa and the whole team on reception. Special thanks also to: Dimitris, Grigoris, Spiros, Johnny, Poppi, Fotini, Marinos, Marco and ALL STAFF IN THE THEMED RESTAURANTS. Toto for lending me a football and many many others who helped ensure that we will return for an 8th visit in 2025!

Stayed here as a family with 11 and 15 yead olds in August. Room was really lovely. The kids beds were proper beds split from main bedroom with a wooden partition. They had their own TV. The mini bar was replenished daily with soft drinks. The bathroom had plenty of toiletries including toothbrushes. We ate in all of the a la carte restaurants and had booked before arrival on the app which is very easy. Although the food was good it did feel quite rushed and we struggled to get more drinks after an initial round. I got the impression they were short staffed on a few of the evenings. The buffet restaurant had a good range of food. I'm pescatarian but found a fair amount of choice. Everything was well labelled with allergens etc. There's a snack bar on the beach just over the road. I was excited for halloumi gyros like I've had at Mitsis Blue Domes but sadly they don't have them here! Only meat options. The snack bar by the kids pools had very basic food. The toasties are literally dry bread with a bit of cheese in them. The ice creams, waffles and crepes by the main pool are really good though. Drinks choice was good. On a Wednesday is the manager's white party (we missed the dress code memo!). There was a really good DJ and the adults had a great time. The entertainment was of a decent standard the rest of the week too. Activity wise there are loads of classes to join in. I did the yoga and pilates. There's an outdoor gym area for classes, and a fairly small indoor gym with the usual equipment. There's also a tennis /football court. We stayed by the pool by the family rooms but there are pool activities in the main pool. I think I slightly preferred Blue Domes over Laguna, largely due to the food choices but we still enjoyed it here

Mitsis Laguna is incredible in absolutely every aspect, I loved every minute I spent there and I've been going back there for several years, 10 days in this paradise is a minimum (although 7 will be fine if it's your second trip same year ;)) Food especially at the a'la carte restaurants is exceptional as well as the experience. The most important part of this Hotel is THE PEOPLE! The loveliest, most caring, welcoming, truly nicest people we've ever met and most of them stayed through these years which really makes it feel like a family you return to each year!
