KNOSSOS BEACH BUNGALOWS SUITES RESORT & SPA

Our stay at this hotel was very special. The staff were so kind and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. The food was amazing. Breakfast was unbelievably good. The beds were comfy everything was clean and tidy. The spa was lovely and the girls who worked there gave an amazing massage and facial. The beach area was full of Bali beds and loungers and the sea was warm. We will definitely go back .

Beautiful place on the Agean Sea. Pink flowers and cats lounging everywhere. As a solo traveler I did not feel really safe when I marked the room as ‘do not disturb’ and even put a chair in front of my locked door only to wake up to housekeeping forcing her way in and pushing the chair in. When I was shown the room I was not made aware that the sliding glass door locked or that there was an outdoor shower, it’s very beautiful except the window was left open the first night since I didn’t even know it was there, and I heard the road noise and motorcycles all night. I had a room that included breakfast and dinner and a private bungalow on the beach. There is another option to have “all inclusive” with all meals and drinks. I liked the option of checking out nearby restaurants. There isn’t much around the resort but a few souvenir shops and few restaurants on the water.

We stayed here at Knossos beach for 1 week for our honeymoon , just leaving today and wow 🤩 this hotel is absolutely beautiful!! So we originally booked a waterfront suite , then halfway through our stay we had a note left in our room to go to reception, when we did they said they had a present for us for our honeymoon, they had upgraded our room with it’s own private pool with stunning sea views! This made our stay here sooo special! The staff here are so friendly kind and hard working, the food is 5* especially both “a la cartes, the rooms are very clean, the beaches are stunning and the water is crystal clear, perfect for snorkelling. I could go on and on , it’s just perfect we will definitely be back !! Maybe to celebrate an anniversary 😉 thanks to all at Knossos beach!! Especially young lady on reception!!!

Knossos is a really fantastic hotel - the location, food, rooms etc etc. really are excellent. Mrs N PARTICULARLY enjoyed the private beach cabana which came with our suite. But it is the incredible staff who make this venue shine; they really are truly exceptional! Friendly, helpful, efficient, professional - they couldn't do enough to make our holiday perfect. A wonderful experience.

We booked a 2 week Easyjet holiday and opted for the “all inclusive” package. There are several things that we wish we had known before we booked ( which were not on either the Easyjet nor the hotel web site ) . We arrived at the hotel at 5.30 am and was told the check in is at 3pm !!!!! . The hotel managed to get our room ready by around 10 am ….CHECK THIS if you are on the same late Easyjet flight as us . We had a comfort family room , situated across the road from the main hotel. The room was spacious , with a separate bedroom and 2 sofa beds in the lounge. Our view from the balcony was of a dirt car park and a field ….check if a view is important to you . Knossos Beach is really lovely in terms of the setting , a safe and sandy beach and clear water , really ideal . The claim that this is a “private beach” is totally wrong ….private beaches are illegal in Greece . Having said that , we never had any trouble finding a sun lounger . There are also Cabana’s for rent , 20 Euros per day , they work fine but have seen better days ….slightly scruffy. The hotel boasts 5 bars BUT they fail to point out anywhere on the web site , that 4 shut at 6 pm. The only bar open thereafter is attached to one of the 2 a la carte restaurants which is also where the evening entertainment takes place. This means the place can get quite full and with only table service and one barman , getting a drink can take ages . The “all inclusive” drinks package is again misleading …..anything other than the very basic drinks are excluded ….even a bottle of water from the beach bar is extra ….a plastic cup of water is included. The room mini bar was fine except I had to point out on 4 occasions that it had not been re-stocked. With regards the restaurants - the web site makes no mention of the fact that the “all inclusive” package does NOT include the 2 a la carte restaurants . All inclusive customers can dine with a 20% discount. The hotel did give us vouchers to dine once a week in each of the 2 restaurants. The rest of the time we ate at the buffet . As is usual at buffets , the food was only warm rather than hot . The quality / choice of the food was really good , no complaints on that score . The breakfasts were extensive and lovely . The stars of our stay were the staff ….absolutely wonderful , always with a smile and willing to help ……certainly the staff are 5 *+ , but I would say that the hotel itself is probably not . We had a lovely time , but being better informed before we booked would have been nice. You need to get all the info to make an informed choice on the package that suits you ….we made a mistake getting “ all inclusive” . As a last point , every hotel on this stretch of coast is under the direct flight path of Heraklion airport .
