KASSAVETIS CENTER - HOTEL STUDIOS & APARTMENTS

A very tired hotel, breakfast was not the best and the staff at breakfast were not very helpful. We booked a sea view which looked great on the website. However the reality was a little different. We were overlooking the sea but also the entertainment strip which got nosier as the night went on. It was a good job we had ear plugs as sleeping was a challenge until 3.00 am. Would not go back, the staff in the reception area were great and could not help you enough.

I have used Love Holidays for many holidays with no cause for complaint - but the Hotel for my holiday to Crete had many Health & Safety Issues at the Hotel. It was not up to the standard - as in maintenance of the hotel/rooms I was expecting from a 3 star hotel & the representation that was made on the Love Holidays website – this includes the detail held on the hotel, the facilities of the hotel as in the room contents & the pictures provided of the hotel. I had an expectation of the standard of maintenance & repair of the hotel & the level experienced at the hotel is the worst I have experienced in 35 years on having many holidays. The receptionist & manager were to put it mildly “quite difficult” & instead of apologising it was apparent this issue was going to mean a not & very nice start to my holiday. My room was changed after requesting my £100 Euro deposit for the original room but by this point I really didn't want to be staying there for the rest of my holiday. I stuck it out because I didn't want to be out of pocket & put in a formal complaint with Love Holidays requesting £150 in compensation but only got back £55.84. The location is great - don't pick this one - there are pleanty of nicer ones with better customer service! Happy Holidays

(19/09/24 to 26/09/24) Just returned from a week at the Kassavetis Center - Hotel Studios & Apartments (***) in Heronossis, Crete. Advertised as a 3 star, but really just a 1 star. We had paid extra for a sea view but didn’t realise the apartment was in a separate building above the main strip (bars and restaurants) with noise continuing into 3 and 4 in the morning. Accommodation, although very clean, was very basic. Furniture was old and needed replaced, beds hard, fridge was ancient although worked, kettle top was broken and bathroom shower attachment on wall broken, shower head/caddy rusty. TV didn’t have English channels and air conditioning was loud. Sea view was lovely but we didn’t sit out as it was too noisy. The apartments were very central for shops and restaurants if you want somewhere just to sleep as your out partying to all hours (cheap and not so cheerful) this is ideal. If you are looking for something more comfortable don’t book these apartments. We ended up going to the Albatross Hotel ****plus every day to use the pool, bought breakfast and lunch there and drinks. Also beware, the beach has a rock base which needs to be negotiated if you wish to go swimming in the sea. After watching others fall, scrapes etc we gave the beach a miss - which was annoying as we enjoy the beach. On our last day we were going to pay €50 to keep our room as flight wasn’t until 11pm and was advised we needed to check out at 11am (advert advises 12 noon). Advised we needed to be out by 5pm. As we were at the pool until then didn’t extend our room but were assured a shower and changing facilities were available. This turned out to be the pool shower (lol) and the public toilet upstairs on the first floor! I must say I have never been in a hotel or apartments that did not have a courtesy room for departing guests. On that note cases were stored in a small cupboard next to lift with glass door (no locks). Reception was sometimes left unattended, so take any valuables with you on your last day. Disappointed.

Plus points....staff are brilliant Room clean and clean regularly Good location Minus points...shower head not attached to anything on the wall so had to hold shower in one hand whilst washing with other No pans except for a frying so bit limited if u wanted to self cater

The hotel was clean but a little tired, we booked breakfast but now wish we had not as the food was not the best and the staff were very disappointing. The coffee was poor at best and the machine looked like it had not been cleaned since installation. However, the staff on reception were most helpful and couldn’t do enough to help. We booked a sea view room, be warned as the noise at night kept us awake until around 3.00 am every night. The room we had did have a good view of the sea plus the main strip as well.
