Great holiday at the former resort Kairaba Sandy Villas - Adults Only
A very enjoyable, relaxed holiday in June - July 2024. We stayed here for 10 nights in one of the upgraded swim up rooms in then known "Kairaba Sandy Villas - Adults Only". Our initial impressions weren't amazing due to me confirming with the hotel on numerous occasions that our room type was booked correctly, then to turn up to the hotel with a dreaded "room upgrade" which we were trying to avoid upon checking in. When making our way to the upgraded room which we did not want, the shared pool with the next exec room was disgusting. Seemed as though it hadn't been cleaned in forever, although the room itself was spotless - very strange! We even had frog guests in the pool that night. After calling through to reception twice and even walking back over, they were adamant that they could not provide us the swim up room in which we paid for until the morning due to Housekeeping not being able to confirm the occupied rooms which I knew was 100% incorrect and made up information. Regardless, we awaited until morning and finally got our much needed swim up room which was a lovely room and had great light morning and day coming into the room and the patio area. Our room was always spotless cleaned thoroughly everyday by housekeepers and the mini bar wad replenished daily with our choice of drinks for free. It was great to have the choice between the swim up pool, the main pool and the adults only beach swim up pool every day. Drinks were always great although as expected, you do pay more for the cocktails that aren't on the menu as well as premium/international spirits. Food was OK, some days and nights were better than others for options but there was such a range to choose from that neither me or my partner went hungry. Amazing service from the guys with the buggy, if you need picking up from your room then you could dial reception and request pick up to go to the beach/shops or even to the restaurant if you were feeling super lazy. The drivers were happy to do this regardless but a nice tip was highly appreciated by them on many occasions! You could really tell the difference between the sister hotel and the adults only although we would have returned, it's extremely sad to hear that they will no longer be adults only going forward! All the staff were amazing at this hotel and it's honestly so sad to hear what has happened since the company went bust while we were there, I hope some of them stayed and are doing well. The beach at this resort is a lovely place to spend the day, plenty of water activities to do too, we chose Jet Skis and a boat trip while we were there. The town is only 2 minutes down the road from the beach too, with many little bars, restaurants and little shops. Highly recommend the sports bars which were great to watch England play while we were there! Overall a very lovely experience, net some lovely people while we were there and it's sad to say that we won't be returning only for the reason that it is no longer adults only. Thanks to the former Kairaba Sandy Villas Team 🤍

Really lovely adults only resort (please keep it that way !)
Such a lovely place to stay. Having read all the other reviews I think some read quite harshly. Yes its not a 5* more of a 4* (and I have stayed in quite a few) but its clean, the food is amazing, the staff are incredible and the resort itself is so relaxing and calm. We stayed in one of the villas which had its own plunge pool (although too cold to use as we went in October half term). Even the main swimming pool isn't heated so you need to be brave to take a dip ! However, the weather in the resort was hot. I think we were lucky as the previous week it was raining and overcast. There were a few niggles but nothing major. When we arrived (late - 11.00 pm) we were escorted to our room but offered no refreshments. The mini bar wasn't filled as often as it should have been. The sunbed towels weren't changed as often as they should be. Also, I know that some people had a big issue with the mosquitos, however myself and my partner were fortunate enough not to be affected by this. We were careful not to have the patio doors open to our room open which I think helped. We also sat outside all the time when the majority of the guests ate inside. You could always get a sunbed, and if you want more action (some said its too calm !) you can head on down to the sister hotel where its more lively. We enjoyed going down there for our 5 mile walk along the beach each day but looked forward to coming back to our resort for its peace and quiet (it is adults only after all). There is a part of the beach sectioned off at the sister hotel (with its own beach bar) you can use which is adults only but you still get the noise from the sister hotel. Also, just confirming what others have said, you get touted by the spa staff round the pool to get a treatment. I opted for a massage towards the end of the holiday. They then came back a few days later and changed the time (which wasn't ideal but I went with it). The massage was meant to be 50 minutes, but by the time you fill in the questionnaire, get to the room and get sorted and then get changed and then fill out another questionnaire on the experience the actual massage itself was more like 35 minutes. Overall, I would definitely go back, however with news to be announced in January that it may allow children will definitely change the dynamic of this hotel, and we would have returned if it is kept as it is (it works adults only not sure of the implications of adding children to the mix with all the swim up pools and plunge pools everywhere, will be a health and safety nightmare !)

    Wonderful relaxing experience
We returned last week from a 10 day break at Sandy Villas and had a lovely peaceful holiday. We arrived around 11pm and immediately greeted by a friendly receptionist and was offered a sandwich after our long journey which was welcomed. Christos took us to our room on a buggy and we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the room was. We elected for a swim up room which was great although the sun didn’t get on to the terrace until around 2pm. The rooms were cleaned and the mini bar restocked every day. The gardens were very pretty and well looked after. The food was varied and decent quality. We used the spa facial and massage) which was lovely. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment was low key and fitting for the hotel’s vibe. The pool area was fine and never a problem getting a sun-bed. Pool was cleaned whilst we were there. The reserved beds on the beach were great too although would have been much more pleasant if the beach was cleared of the dried seaweed as was a bit of an eyesore piled up at the waters edge. We went to corfu town which was wonderful. The local resort was very quiet with just a few restaurants and supermarkets. The negatives were that the bed was sooo uncomfortable- both me and my husband ended up with a sore back! WiFi was sporadic. We are not big drinkers but if we wanted a branded drink (such as a Baileys) then we had to pay extra which was disappointing particularly as there was no local equivalent offering. To get to the beach you have to walk through the sister hotel (Sandy Beach) which is a very lively family hotel. This let down the very relaxing atmosphere of Sandy Villas. Overall we had a very peaceful relaxing stay and if this is what you are looking for I would highly recommend. However, we hear that it is likely to be returned to a family resort in the coming years and if this is the case, we would not return.

    Please Keep Adults Only
We had a fabulous week at this adults only hotel. Clean with Friendly efficient staff and lovely food. We have booked to return again next year however understand there is talk that for 2025 the hotel is going to accommodate families. We booked specifically as an adults only so would be very disappointed if this was to change.

An average stay, buildings and staff made the holiday.
This is an honest review from a young married couple that recently stayed at Sandy Villas. When we arrived, it was very late and we were quickly checked in to our accommodation. I had joined a Facebook group where previous guests from the hotel had said that they had received sandwiches however we did not. We were upgraded to a villa with a private pool which was lovely. We did note that we shared our pool with a resident frog which stayed for 2 days. We were taken in a golf buggy to our room and went to bed. The next morning we went to breakfast which was fairly same-y for the whole stay, the weather was overcast so we stayed either around the pool, in the lobby or in our room. The soft drinks weren't the same from lobby to pool bar. The pool Pepsi wasn't very flavourful but was better in the lobby. We found the lunch items to be repeated again later in the evening. After our evening meal, we sat and played cards in the lobby where there was evening entertainment (this was great all week.) Both myself and my husband opted to have a cocktail as it was my birthday, I had a blue lagoon which was awful. It was horrendously alcoholic with no fruity flavour. This put me off having another cocktail for the rest of the holiday. We went to bed and I awoke around an hour later not feeling well only to find I had a sickness bug which kept me awake well into the following morning. I cannot confirm that I had caught it from the hotel however I did hear from two other guests that they too had sickness bugs throughout our stay. This meant that I missed breakfast and lunch the following day as I felt so rough but I did manage to stomach a bread roll and chicken skewer at dinner. We had booked into the Italian restaurant for our A La Carte meal which was very average. We had a Caesar salad, tortellini, chicken and mashed potato and the Italian meringue. The chicken that I had were 2 roasted drumsticks. The most positive thing I can say that because we had pre-ordered, we were in and out in an hour and 10 minutes. We did also dine at the beachside restaurant one lunch time, the staff again were very efficient. I ordered the burger and fries and this came without a bun. The food itself was very average. The other resort does not have the same quality as Sandy Villas, we had booked an adult only and the sister hotel was very family focused. There was an on site shop there which was handy as we were able to buy snacks and drinks. Our pool wasn't cleaned throughout our stay, which meant there was a build up of leaves and algae around the ladders so I didn't go in. Our minifridge however was topped up every single day. The TVs show mainly German channels. We did book a trip through Lord Travel to Corfu Town, this was 15 euro per adult and was well run. The buildings and staff make this resort what it is, please don't book thinking you will have gastronomical delights. The food isn't the best, nor are the drinks however the staff work hard and are quick to accommodate.
