Just returned from 2 weeks with my husband borh in our 70s my husband has difficulty walking and must say the staff went over and above to help when needed. The rooms and pool area are spotless the food very good with plenty of choice the staff friendly especially if you make the effort to speak with them then to top of a splendid holiday I was presented with a surprise birthday cake by the reception and manager will definitely health permitting be making a return visit

Wonderful place, wonderful hotel

One of the best choice in Malia, Crete. The Ammos Beach Hotel is wonderful located right on beach with fine sands. We appreciated that was very clean everywhere, the food was delicious and the staff super friendly. Bed was comfy and the sea view make us a perfect holiday. Perfect place for relaxation.

5 Star service

very clean all around with professional staff from top to bottom... food was good breakfast and dinner with a different menu for dinnier every night ( stayed 5 nights). overlooking the beach and one minute walk from a local sandy beach that is well serviced good for long walks . you have access to next door beach resturant which had a nice collection of greek dishes and less costly drinks than that provided by hotel . The only annoying think was the guys handling the sunbeds on the beach as they were more interested to rent out the beds to non resident hotel visitors ( as we are offered free sunbeds by hotel ) . So beach was over crowded on certain days . Hotel offers free daily yoga classes and a complimentary 15 minute massage session at their spa.

Beautiful place, but not 5 star quality...

Cozy, clean rooms and beautiful environment just as in pictures. Hospital maids and receptionists, that surprised us with better room than the one ordered + a room booking for 1 hour after check out to be able to take a shower before the flight. Tasty food (but overuse of oil is evident). However, during our one week stay the breakfast staff showed no interest to provide a good service: we were not informed about freshly made omlete nor about the possibility to order some other coffee than jug of black coffee which is given by default. Coffee is provided in small cups and the ask for a refill results in obvious irritation and up to 30 minute delay. We also were not informed that booking an evening at the restaurant will leave us without buffet dinner given by default and after neither filling nor delicious restaurant food we were told to leave filled buffet plates at the waiter and forced out hungry. Nice place to stay, but multiple mornings ruined show that it is not a 5 star hotel.

Mediocre service experience in hotel

The pool area and rooms looks beautiful, everything is clean and pleasant, however the experience was strogly worsened by rude staff, completely uninterested to give good quality service. Breakfast ladies didn't bother to inform about coffee options, only on third day we reasized we can make orders. A simple latte order took up to 30 minutes. Staff also doesn't speak english which makes very hard to comunicate special needs. Furthemore we weren't informed that having dinner in restaurant would exclude us from dinner buffet. The food in restaurant was of surprisingly bad quality, so we left the food uneaten with hope to fill our stomaches in buffet. However there we were forced out with no possibility to even finish our plates, the manager didn't show any hospitality or understanding of the situation. Food in general is delicious, but overly oily so much that I got digestion issues. I liked my holidays, however the experience was no way near 5 stars.
