DORE HOTEL

How people can give this hotel 5 star TripAdvisor is beyond me I have given 3 at a push should only be a two. We went here for ten nights at the end of October we new before we went it was the end of the season. When we checked in we upgraded our room to a sea view for the duration of our stay . The food started off quite nice but as the time went on the quality of the food dropped off by the end of our stay it very limited and not hot NOT GOOD . I found most of the staff not interested in there guests just standing around and doing just enough bar staff seem to spend more time on their phones than serving and cleaning tables. The entertainment was as good as watching paint drying. Then on day eight of our stay we was told the hotel was closing the next day and we needed to move hotels we had no choice in the matter we were being thrown out as you can imagine we was not happy. Would I recommend this hotel No I would not

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Dore hotel. This hotel is wonderful. Extremely clean and the staff are incredible. Elina on the bar, Anna at breakfast and Nikolas and Silvy at lunch/dinner in particular made our stay even better. Personal touches such as remembering your drink order adds to the lovely feel of the hotel. Nothing is too much for the staff, Maria on reception was also extremely helpful when checking us in and showing us to our room, she also recommended nice days out and phoned for taxis for us. We really cannot emphasise enough how wonderful the staff are, they made our holiday run smoothly and we are very grateful. The food is wonderful. Not a huge selection when compared to other all inclusive hotels, though this hotel is smaller than others we’ve stayed at before. The selection was enough for us to all find something we could enjoy, and the quality of food was very high. The desserts in particular are so good, there is a lot of variety and they are so delicious. The location is great, near the beach and near a main road for bus routes or pick ups for excursions. The views also aren’t the most scenic, though it did not affect our stay. The hotel will get a lunch together for you if you are out for the day. We are a family with two very young children. There isn’t loads for children to do here, though they have a lovely little play area and the staff are great with kids so this wasn’t an issue. The entertainment was good, we loved the ‘cake or real’ evening which was a lovely bit of fun. There was 4 ‘events’ on during the day. We would absolutely return to this hotel if we ever come to Crete again, which is very likely as it’s beautiful. Not associated with the hotel, but one thing to bear in mind for a late October holiday to Crete is that things are shutting down for winter and the weather isn’t the hottest, especially on a cloudy day. We would return earlier in the year next time. We had the best holiday, thank you Dore hotel!!

We just returned from a wonderful nine-night stay at the Dore Hotel. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the reception staff, who personally guided us to our room and explained how to use the air conditioning—such a thoughtful touch compared to the usual impersonal check-in experience. The hotel was spotless, and this immediately stood out, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, complete with bathrobes and slippers hanging in the wardrobe. The bed was, without a doubt, the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. Our three teenage children stayed in an adjacent room, which was equally lovely, featuring a double bed and a single. The room also had tea and coffee facilities, mini fridge and a handy little safe. There was a minor issue with the fitted hairdryer in the bathroom burning out, but thankfully, a spare hairdryer in the wardrobe saved the day. The housekeeping staff were friendly and ensured our rooms were cleaned every day, maintaining a high standard throughout our stay. The pool area was well-maintained, with plenty of sunbeds and parasols available. Although the pool was cold, it was refreshing once you got in, and the chill-out area provided a great spot for relaxing and reading. The cocktails at the bar were delightful, especially the piña colada! The soft drinks weren’t branded, but the kids enjoyed them nonetheless. We appreciated the pool snacks served throughout the day, and the buffet was one of the best all-inclusive options we've ever experienced, with desserts that were simply out of this world. Empty glasses were also taken away very quickly from the pool area, ensuring a tidy environment. The dining staff were attentive, friendly, and worked incredibly hard to keep the restaurant area clean. Water and drinks were served promptly, and plates were cleared away quickly, maintaining a tidy atmosphere for all guests. The entertainment staff also engaged our teenagers with pool games, adding to the fun. The location was perfect—just a two-minute walk to the beach, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely consider returning! Thank you to all the staff that work so hard ! 🩷

This was our second trip to the Dore Hotel and yet again it didn't disappoint. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff can't do enough to help and are both extremely efficient and very helpful indeed. The rooms are lovely and the food is always good and plentiful. Just one gripe this year, the entertainment was pretty awful in honesty, delivered by someone with a distinct lack of enthusiasm or personality. That didn't impact on our overall experience but it did leave us feeling a little flat. Overall this is a first class hotel and a great holiday destination. Keep up the fantastic work.

Absolutely lovely hotel, can’t fault it on anything! Spent 9 days here with my wife and we both loved it, the food was great the staff were friendly and helpful. Top notch hotel in a great location, spotlessly clean and modern, im racking my brain for a negative but I cannot find one 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
