ALBA ROYAL HOTEL

This hotel is most definitely not a 5 star hotel it is barely scraping a 4 star rating in my opinion. The grounds are vast and well kept but unfortunately wherever you are around the grounds and including the restaurant terraces you are forever engulfed in a puff of smoke. So if you think you wish to enjoy a lovely lunch or dinner outside think again. The WiFi is useless as if you want it in your room you have to pay for this service. The beds are very uncomfortable with wafer thin pillows, but of course at a cost you can make your preferred selection at a fee from the pillow menu. The Gym is very basic and equipment could do with an upgrade. If you use the Soa and buy a service be prepared to be hassled to buy more as they will insist. The greeting at reception on arrival is not what I would expect for a 4 or a 5 star hotel staff speak very little English and have no idea on how to address guests upon arrival unless they are German of course. Prior to my arrival I sent several emails with a special request all of which remained unanswered. If you have a late flight don’t even think of asking to pay for a late checkout I wax told by the receptionist in broken English to wait till my leaving day and ask again then. When I did after having been made to wait for a while and after she asked the Manager who was standing next to her, I was told that unfortunately there was no option of a late check out, would have been nice if the Manager himself had bothered to take the time to speak to me. Concluding it has taken me three visits to finally realise that I shall not be returning as I left totally exhausted and in need of another holiday to recover from this one.

I had read reviews that the hotel was tired looking.Did not find that at all,it is done out in dark browns and cream and is not to modern tastes but is clean and in good order.We only booked this hotel because it was adults only. The room is of standard size for hotels in the area,the air con was good,mini bar with fizzy drinks and water,bathroom products available The pool is a good length,some people go down and lay towels at 7am but beds could be had up to about 10am Plenty of free sunbeds at the beach area as well.All staff were excellent,there were 3 other UK couples in the hotel when we were there. The food had a good sellection at main buffet restaraunt,i like to have meal outside but only 2 tables had a no smoking sign on them,you would have to put up with smoke blowing across All staff speak english and fluent german,some times i thought i was in a german retirement home but it was the first week in October.It is a 5 mins walk to the main shops of Colakli.We booked shuttle bus(4 or less stops)it took 1 hour going and 35 mins back(young fast driver in early morning)

This hotel is lovely, rooms are cleaned daily, and all areas are well maintained. It seems to be a hotspot for German tourists, so English tourists are well outnumbered. We did meet one English couple the day after we arrived and then a few more couples/family a few days later. We did encounter a german group that basically drove us away from the table we had been sitting at around the pool bar one evening, but this was quickly picked up by a staff member who found us another table. The entertainment was a bit lacking, however we did enjoy the darts activity with Mali, quite the character and lovely ☺️ The selection of food was very good at all meals, and staff always at hand. The one point of contention is that there are definitely not enough "no smoking" tables outside !!! We tried the Turkish and Cuban A La Carte meals, which we really enjoyed, especially with the fact that Isa was serving at both, and was very attentive, ensuring we were happy with everything. The Internet was forever "dipping out," and it was annoying, to say the least, to have to pay for it in our rooms !!!! We had a very enjoyable stay at the Alba Royal

We stayed at the Alba Royal for 10 nights. A very clean hotel, and pool area. The room was good with excellent air conditioning. Spa worth a visit. Good selection of food. Service free m the staff was excellent- special mention to Isa who was very friendly and nothing too much trouble. The entertainment staff were great. Pool party and a party with the 2 other Alba hotels a real bonus.

Beautiful location,food was outstanding. Sad that not all the staff are friendly & smiley towards the English but the staff who did were amazing. Mali was always on point and bubbly. Room,pool & restaurants were immaculate 👌. Not many English guests ,so the Germans were very rude & ignorant making us feel like 2nd class guests,pushing in ,removing our belongings off sunbeds & throwing them to the floor (Disgraceful behaviour). Entertainment was mediocre. Disco was not open. It was very boring for guests who are under 70 to be honest. Due to the hotel favouring German clients I will not be returning sadly.
