Beautiful and convenient hotel in the heart of Athens!
The staff are incredible! They were so kind to us and our son. The location is unbeatable! So many great shops and restaurants just steps outside the hotel. Very convenient for the Acropolis, Plaka, and much more! The breakfast was also wonderful.

    Bed bugs and black mold
I was part of a group tour that booked 4 star hotels around Greece, and Airotel was not at all a 4 star experience. On arrival to my room, I unpacked and then laid down on my bed to rest for maybe 10 minutes. When I sat up, there were 3 live bed bugs on my pillow and blood from one that had bit me. I immediately called down to reception and they apologized and moved my room, but I also gave my group a heads up to check their mattresses just in case. As soon as the person who moved me (not sure if he was just reception staff or the manager) realized I had told the group, he was extremely condescending and rude to me and told me in plain words to not talk to my group about the bugs and that my room was the only room in the hotel with a problem (which I don’t believe, based on another recent review citing bed bugs here). I then felt unsafe and unwelcome. We were there for 3 nights and another member of our group found black mold in her room near her bed and felt unwell from being in that room. My bathroom trash was also not emptied at all when it was full, nor were used cups cleaned. Out of concern for health/safety I booked myself a different hotel when we returned to Athens as I did not want to be booked back into a room with bed bugs or mold, and I had already been treated with hostility by staff. On the positives it is very close walking distance to Acropolis attractions and breakfast in the mornings was varied and good, but the health concerns and rudeness I experienced outweigh the rest.

    Airotel Parthenon Has Greeat Location
Everyone wants to see the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. Airotel Parthenon is close to all. It is in the best area of Athens, the Acropolis. Great service, capable administrators in the Reception desk made our stay enjoyable. We are reserving rooms in the same hotel for our next trip. Special Appreciation to Manager Yiannis Chatzakonstantis; Maria Zapounidou and Giota Zoubouli, Reservations agents; Spiros, Akis, Maria, Hanan and Makris of Reception.

    Great Staff, Needs Updates
While we overall enjoyed our stay, that was mostly due to the wonderful staff, access to the city and attractions (walking distance). Our bed was also very comfortable- but I do want to note that we booked a triple room with a view of the Acropolis, however we were placed in a room with 2 twin beds facing the street. The room vaguely resembled the pictures from the website, however most of the furniture was very worn and the bathroom was dingy and patched. Pros: -There’s a happy hour (buy one drink, get your second drink free) every night from 16:00-20:00. -The air conditioning at the hotel lobby and inside of your room works very well, hallways, stairs, and elevators are not so comfortable. -The staff was very accommodating and as helpful as they could be given language barriers. They allowed us to have a late checkout and held our bags while we waited for our room to be ready. -The beds are very comfortable. -You can walk to the Acropolis, Parthenon, and Plaka in less than 5 minutes. -“Free” breakfast (we actually found out that the rooms including breakfast pay a rate that is €20-30 more. Cons: -The curtains in the room are completely sheer and provide little privacy or shield from the noisy street and early sunrises. -The elevators are extremely small and shaky. You can fit no more than 1!person with a standard suitcase at a time. -The hotel is located on a crowded, narrow, one-way street that taxis cannot fit through. There were many homeless people sleeping on the street, however that seems to be a theme throughout the whole area. -The appliances are outdated. The hairdryer looks to be 20 years old and heats up so much that it burns your hands, the television is extremely small, and there is only 1 very small light in the bathroom that doesn’t light up the shower area.
