SIDE AMOUR HOTEL

Since 2010, I have been going to Side regularly with my friends, we have already visited many hotels in the center. From the big ones, the Side Star company, to the small three-star ones. However, this hotel completely exceeded our expectations. There is a friendly family atmosphere throughout the hotel, all the staff are kind, helpful, always trying to help and advise. They organize a program for their guests 3 times a week, be it a professional Brazilian dance performance or a typical Turkish night. The chefs try to make the already excellent Turkish cuisine special with an Italian dinner or a fish dinner, everything is delicious and devilish. The hotel also serves midnight soup. The serving waiters - bartenders are always happy to advise you on what to try. By the pool at the Extra bar, the ever-smiling bartender Cihan always offers and mixes something extra, during dinner he walks between the tables and asks the guests if everything is okay, how was the day, etc. In the restaurant bar as part of the all inclusive concept, he will take care of you the waiter Bozan, everyone is simply very helpful and nice. You can get to the beach by walking, but if you don't feel like walking, you can take the hotel bus, which takes you there every half hour, if you want you can come back with it for lunch, but we never did that. There is a restaurant on the beach where you can have lunch in the form of a served menu or taste excellent gözleme, beer, soft drinks, coffee, water. There, too, you will always be taken care of by a nice and friendly apparently family team. The weather was great, every day we swam on the beautiful sandy beach, walked around the temple of Apollo and Aphrodite, everything was within walking distance of this pleasant hotel.

My partner and I booked this hotel for a weeks stay, it was our first holiday away together and our first time visiting Türkiye. Honestly this hotel was fantastic! Really amazing staff, hard workers, really friendly and helpful. The hotel, our room and the outdoor pool were all very cleanly. Our room was a great size with a balcony, the AC in the room worked well too. The staff were always doing something, cleaning, helping guests having friendly chats with guests. My partner has a severe nut allergy and we have a allergy card that’s in English and Turkish, he showed the manager and the chef and he was able to eat all the food, breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner even on the event nights. There were only maybe 4 or 5 deserts he wasn’t able to eat but every time the manager saw my partner he would come over and take him around the food and show him everything he could eat which was really great of him! The food was amazing!! So delicious and fresh, the fish was superb, and everything we ate went down so well. The drinks were really nice too. There was also a free shuttle bus back and forth to a beach that was linked to the hotel where you had your own private section on the beach for amour guests, this included sun beds and a beach bar where you could get refreshments and food. It was really lovely, clean and great staff. The beach was great, clear cool water. I’m sure I could write much more great things about this hotel. We will definitely stay again if we plan another holiday to Türkiye 💗

First of all the hotel is nice, very modern in design. Nice rooms, pool and very clean. However for me there was a few things that didn’t sit right with me, we arrived at 3am got put into a room but we were told that we could only stay one night so we couldn’t really unpack anything, so next day we went to reception and were then told no it’s the next day we need to move. So for me that was a bit of inconvenience, the food was seriously average, breakfast was really lacking it did feel like there was only eggs, chips and salad on offer and seemed that way for lunch too, the coffee machine did only seem to be plugged in for the evening? I did ask and they said it wasn’t working, as far as alcohol goes I hope you like weak beer, and if you want a cocktail that’s after 8:30pm and if you ask for one be prepared for some nasty looks from the staff, if you want a decent cocktail you’ll have to pay for that and the ice creams too, the entertainment is mostly a dj playing the same songs every night until 11 when everything closes up. One evening my partner was shouted at by a Russian woman because she was smoking at the tables you are allowed to smoke at, because it was the side of her room, and while I’m on the subject we where the only brits on site, so keep that in mind. I suspect the owners are allowing there friends to drink and spend the evening at the hotel most nights they were playing poker and drinking, pretty obvious when they’ve no wrist bands on. The beach was alright although If you want to get a sun lounger then get ready to go on the shuttle early, as it’s a bit of a scramble to get one, and the bar is the same as the hotel only alcohol is the weak efes beer, no spirits too. We’d planned on going to check out the markets so we asked the manager for directions and he immediately responded with ‘why would you want to go there’ I found him very blunt and not that helpful the whole time, we had a hard time when trying to buy the WiFi, yes that’s not included either. After the 4th day we started going out for dinner and getting a few drinks away from the hotel. The Turkish night was good fun on the Sunday, fairly entertaining and they did some proper Turkish kebabs but that was the good evening for me. It does seem as if it’s a bit of a you get what you pay for kind of place, I wouldn’t go back to that hotel but Side as a place I would.

On arrival late evening we were offered food put by for us plus the evening soup service. After a long day travelling this was a great start. Room was small but clean and functional. We had an issue with our aircon on day 3 but it was fixed straight away. I have a mainly plant based diet and never went hungry… plenty of fabulous salads and veg . Some milk alternatives would have been perfect but it didn’t ruin my week. Tea and coffee available in room with fridge which was welcome. Located about 15 mins from the main prom/ shops and a little further to the Old Town. Easy to get to Manavgat for more shops although we went on a Sunday and found many shops closed. We had a hammam and massage at Delphin Spa . This was great with pick up from hotel … arranged directly via messenger. Well recommended . Staff in hotel were generally friendly and worked hard. The main negative for us was that there is very limited outside space…. Everything centres around the pool area which is small with loungers and seating for dining rather than lounging in the evenings. The pool was a bit chilly as I guess mid October it doesn’t get too much sun but it was still nice. The beach was nice and the water warmer than the hotel pool ! Overall we were happy with our week especially for the price we paid .

If you’re English find another hotel, terrible food, watered down drinks, and full of miserable Germans and Russians, pool was absolutely freezing, 90% of staff were rude. Air con gave us the worst cold. Manager was blunt to us. Never again
