MON REPOS PALACE OPERATED BY ELLA RESORTS

The breakfast and dinner very good. The views from our room were amazing, everyday we could see the sunrise. Very kind and professional staff. Bed very confortable. Rooms very clean Very good localion, just 20 minutes walking to go to Corfu city downtown. V

I stayed at Mon Repos Palace Hotel between 13th and 20th October. As you arrive, the reception staff are very welcoming, and your booking in process is accompanied by a complementary drink. I had a problem with the combination lock on my suitcase, which appeared to have been damaged in flight and wouldn’t open. Within two minutes of asking reception if they could help, a maintenance man was at my door to help open the lock. This was at 9pm on a Sunday! The public areas were lovely, a very nice restaurant, and a relaxing bar area to chill after the meal. Even though this was practically out of season, music entertainment was laid on for two or three nights. The rooms are functional and mine had a good side sea view. It was a bit old fashioned for my personal taste, but everything worked well. I stayed on bed and breakfast basis, and the breakfast buffet, with a huge selection of hot and cold food was superb. Breakfast is served between 7.30 and 10.30. Try to avoid 9 to 9.30 as this seems to be the popular time for guests. Evening meals are also buffet style, but the choice of food, all cooked perfectly, was amazing. You also get a complimentary glass of red or white wine with your meal. The restaurant is run perfectly by Mr. Costas and his team, who can’t do enough to ensure your dining experience is a happy one. They also have a spa at the hotel, but I didn’t use it. The hotel’s location is good, being a short bus ride, or 30 minutes walk around a most beautiful bay into bustling Corfu town. A very enjoyable, relaxing week.

We have been staying at Mon Repos for 2 nights at the end ( sometimes at the start, too) of our holidays in Corfu for over 10 years. We always look forward to seeing Kostas in the restaurant, who always gives us a big welcome. We love this hotel , from the welcome glass of prosecco, the lovely breakfasts outside watching the world go by, the lovely classical furnishing in the lobby area, all the staff are so professional. Yes the bathrooms are dated and do need attention and the juice at breakfast is not fresh juice ( not keen on the new dispenser either🫣) But these are really minor issues, we love everything else and hope Ella resorts don't make too many changes. The hotel is so conveniently situated ( walking into the old town, about 20 minutes - the improvements to the park areas along Garitsa are lovely and makes it a really lovely walk) lots of good restaurants very close by - we have eaten in several and recommend Mesogeios, Avli & Fegaropetra. We love Anemomylos restaurant to while away the day on a sunbed with really good service for food /drink and swimming - great snorkeling there too. When open, The Royal Baths beach is good, too. Also, a walk around Mon Repos Palace and grounds ( Prince Philip's birthplace) definitely a must, 5 mins walk , free to walk around the grounds and lovely down at the jetty. We are looking forward to a few days there next year again 😍

The stay on the whole was good. However, one negaqtive is that the hotel does not allow guests to bring own water in dining area. One is forced to purchase the expensive bottles on offer there. When we complained, we were told this is the law. I am sure Greece as a country would not have such an unreasonable law.

There is a lot to like about this hotel but to describe it as four star hotel is ambitious. It's in a great location but it's really dated, especially the bathrooms which need replaced. The pool is tiny, more than once I went to sun bathe and found I couldn't because every space was occupied. Visitors in late October should be aware that a lot of facilities start shutting for the season.
